Last week, the Host.net team traveled to International Telecoms Week (ITW) 2017 in Chicago for three days of meetings and networking with industry colleagues from all over the globe. This is one of the largest telecom events each year, and 2017 was no different, with 6,771 attendees, 1989 companies and 141 countries represented. Needless to say, our CEO, Jason Katz, and Director of Marketing & Partner Development, Allie Hernandez, were quite busy! Jason also had the chance to sit down with JSA’s Vice President of New Media and Account Strategy, Dean Perrine, for a discussion about the latest developments at Host.net – so look for that video to be available soon.
We met with a variety of fellow ITW attendees to discuss our full suite of best-in-class solutions, while learning about some of the groundbreaking initiatives other companies are implementing. We left Chicago confident that we had formed some exciting new industry connections.
We discussed our latest offerings in Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and how the work we do prepares companies to protect their data in the face of a manmade or natural disaster to ensure they can get their operation back up and running with as little disruption as possible. Host.net offers much more than DRaaS, and many attendees also asked us about our security capabilities in the face of the recent cyber attacks.
Other important topics included the need for carriers to evolve with changing technology, connecting smart cities, and the Internet of Things (IoT). These represent trends that the team at Host.net is constantly thinking about as we strive to meet the evolving needs of our customers. We always appreciate the chance to examine these topics with our friends, old and new, at ITW. We came home ready to share our experience with the rest of the team, and look forward to heading into the summer with some exciting initiatives underway. Stay tuned!
