Jason Katz

Jason joined Host.net in May of 2013 as Chief Financial Officer. His role evolved in December of 2015 to the title of Chief Executive Officer in recognition of his passion and dedication to the staff, partners and clients at the company. A successful CPA with experience in both public and private sectors, his duties now include responsibility for the overall management at Host.net. He oversees the development and execution of strategic planning and evaluation and pursuit of new business opportunities, while ensuring that overall synergies and efficiencies are realized.

Jason works closely with all staff, vendors and partners to achieve operational efficiency and high-quality service. He strongly believes that dedicated relationships are key to the success of an organization and facilitates successful customer, partner and vendor service and relations. True to this philosophy, Jason cultivates a level of service that is second to none. Under his leadership, the company has focused on providing state-of-the-art products from a dedicated team to guarantee the success of both Host.net and its customers.

Prior to joining Host.net, Jason held a key position at Hunter Douglas – a high-end manufacturer, fabricator and distributor of window coverings – in their Window Décor Division, where he spent ten years and was deeply involved with cost management. This included sourcing, streamlining business practices, metric creation and reporting, all of which ensured the goals of the company were often exceeded. Jason also held a position at Carl’s Patio, a luxury retailer of patio furniture and related accessories. He spent four years performing a variety of functions there, including streamlining financial reporting, implementing cost saving initiatives, creating shareholder value, M&A, producing bank and board packages/presentations, and implementing key performance metrics to drive business success.

Jason attended Kent State University with a concentration in business management, and subsequently studied at the University of Pittsburgh with an accounting focus. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, working out and playing hockey. He is an advocate of community success and serves on several boards, including Easter Seals of Broward County, and also works with Kent State and Florida Atlantic University on a variety of community projects.

Nick Russo


Nick Russo joined Host.net in June 2016 as the Chief Technical Officer. He oversees the company’s current technology and creates relevant policy. Nick brings with him 20 years of IT experience in the Managed Service Provider area, as well as with LAN and WAN architecture. He is responsible for executing the company’s technical vision, identifying emerging technology trends, research & development and crafting new solutions. He communicates the company’s technology strategy to partners, management, investors and employees.

Nick is a problem-solver and orchestrator at heart. He collaborates with customers as both their consultant and advocate to help design the best possible solution to efficiently address their business needs.

Outside of the office, Nick enjoys music, theater and all things science and technology – from aviation to physics.

Soraya Moreno

Director of Provisioning and Billing

Soraya joined Host.net in September of 2007 as the Director of Provisioning and Billing. Boasting extensive experience in vendor management, auditing, accounting and financial analysis of mergers and acquisitions, she oversees vendor communication, installations and accounts receivables.

Since becoming a part of the Host.net team, Soraya has played an integral role in advancing the company’s provisioning department and enhancing its processes to ensure success. She is instrumental in spearheading the policies and procedures needed to provide customers with the best installation experience and smoothest transition possible when switching to Host.net services.

Prior to joining Host.net, Soraya served as the Provisioning Manager and Assistant Controller for Continental Broadband Florida d/b/a WebUnited. She began her career there in the accounting department and achieved increasing responsibilities in human resources, provisioning, billing and payables due to her effective leadership and dedication to achieving efficiency. She enjoyed a successful seven-year tenure with WebUnited, which was acquired by Host.net from Continental Broadband in 2007.

Daniel Calderon

Facility Director

Daniel is an integral part of the Host.net family, ensuring each of the company’s data centers achieves optimum performance, reliability and sustainability. He joined Host.net in October of 2006 as Facility Director and oversees the day-to-day needs of each site, while also setting and executing a variety of long-term goals.

Daniel began his career as a Network Manager for Mid Manhattan Medical in New York City, where he oversaw network administration for more than 30 sites on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. He later worked as a network technician/engineer for Equinix, Inc. at their facilities in Newark and Secaucus, New Jersey.

Chris Hollinger

Director of Technical Operations

Chris joined Host.net in April of 2010 and is a key contact for all customers. He is responsible for the operations and management of the Network Operations Center and works directly with clients to ensure they have a solid understanding of all services and initiatives. As he possesses a unique understanding of customers needs, he also collaborates with Host.net’s Customer Support, Sales and Engineering groups to address and answer important questions. Chris is depended on to directly lead troubleshooting efforts for any complex issues that arise. As such, his primary role is to maintain and continuously improve customer support through procedural refinements.

Ted Mocarski

Director of the Board & Non Executive Chairman of the Board

Mocarski joined the Host.net Board in December of 2012 when NovaCap Technologies purchased a majority interest in Host.net. Mocarski has been involved in funding and growing telecommunications and internet infrastructure companies for over 20 years.

Prior to joining NovaCap, Mr. Mocarski was a General Partner at Bank Street Capital Partners, a private equity firm where he participated in several investments in companies based in North America.

His prior experience also includes serving as a General Partner of Nautic Partners and Key Venture Partners where he was responsible for managing the funds’ investment efforts in the telecommunications and internet infrastructure sectors. While at those funds, Mr. Mocarski led their investments in companies such as Dobson Communications, Exodus, Verio, InterXion, Integra Telecom, Fairpoint Communications, Optasite and OpSource. Prior to entering the private equity field, Mr. Mocarski was an attorney at Edwards & Angell where he represented several private equity firms with respect to their investment efforts.

Mr. Mocarski serves on the Boards of iWeb, GNAX, and the City of Providence Retirement System Investment Committee. Mr. Mocarski holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Colby College and a Juris Doctor from American University.

Stéphane Tremblay

Stéphane joined the Host.net Board in December of 2012 when NovaCap Technologies purchased a majority interest in Host.net. Mr. Tremblay joined Novacap in 2006, leaving his position as investor and CEO of Memotec Inc., a data communication equipment manufacturer, which he bought, restructured and then sold to Comtech/EF Data.

Mr. Tremblay’s prior experience includes working at Future Electronics, a leading electronic component distribution company. From 1989 to 1993, he held a Regional Sales Manager position at Allan Crawford, a data communication equipment company. Mr. Tremblay is a founding team member of Microcell, where he was responsible for building the first GSM network in Canada. In 2000, Mr. Tremblay became President and CEO of Espion/ESP Media, the first MVNO in North America. From 2001 to 2003, he was President and CEO of Kontron Canada, a division of Kontron A.G.

Mr. Tremblay holds a BSEE from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, which he earned in 1985.

Samuel Nasso

Mr. Nasso joined the Host.net Board in December of 2015. Mr. Nasso joined Novacap in 2012 and has since completed several acquisitions in the telecommunications, non-destructive technologies and healthcare IT sectors.

Mr. Nasso serves as board observer for Oxford Networks, Onstream Pipeline Inspection Services and Intelerad Medical Systems. Mr. Nasso holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the John Molson School of Business.

Harald J. Braun


With a lifelong career in telecommunications, Harald has managed leading companies in the private and public telecommunications industry as president and CEO, including Siemens (NYSE: SI) Networks USA, Nokia Siemens North America, and Aviat Networks (NASDAQ: AVNW). During his vast career, Harald has proven his capabilities as a truly global manager, transforming and building businesses in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa.

Harald has been a prominent standards influencer and spokesman for the telecommunications industry. He has served as treasurer of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) and was a member of its executive board. He served on the Board of Directors of BigBand Networks (NASDAQ: BBND) and is currently on the Board of Directors of Tarana Wireless, Inc. and is Chairman of its Advisory Board.  In addition Harald is on the Board of CLAdirect INC., a Solution Technology provider and Dialogic INC., a leading provider of cloud-optimized real-time multimedia processing solutions and network infrastructure solutions. 

He has been recognized as one of America’s “Top 100 Voices of the IP Communications Industry” by Internet Telephony magazine and, while president and CEO of Aviat Networks, he was named Africa’s “International Telecom CEO of the Year” by IT & Telecom magazine.

Harald is an active supporter of charitable organizations that focus on improving the lives of children in orphanages in sub-Saharan Africa and in Central America. Harald earned a Masters in engineering degree in Telecommunications from the University of Aachen in Germany.
